Base Turrets!
So, as I start to flesh out the nuts and bolts of a PvE swarm, the next step in that phase is turrets.
They're tough, and they protect your spawn area (which will inevitably become a base of sorts). I have removed the probe, as that gameplay feature wasn't really going to be as dynamic as I'm hoping this game could be.
However, adding base turrets had a few extra conditions I didn't expect, but they're all sorted now as well
- AI, both human (not available in browser version yet) and alien will try to attack turrets
- Navigation system was modified so player's and aliens can't walk through the turrets
- Projectile arcs were added for the turret, but have found their way into longer range weapons as well
Enemy and player turrets are differentiated by their projectile colour and their colour.
They still need some death fx and a little more love, but the bare bones implementation is in.
Once we get ranged enemies (I have something exciting planned for this), and some general AI improvements (right now, it functions, not much more) we'll start to see gameplay complexity increase.
